June In Review - Whole 30 Amazon Must Haves
I know June isn't over yet, but we are close enough. Some of you already know that I have been on this amazing Whole 30 adventure. During Whole 30, you might find adjusting difficult. The first two weeks were extremely hard for me, but I had some great key items that have helped me along the way.
I don't like to make Whole 30 all about getting through it, but sometimes, it's hard. Sometimes, you need certain foods or certain tools to help you along the way. Here is a list of items (with affiliate links) that were crucial to me on this Whole 30 journey. (P.S. I will still use these outside of Whole 30 cause they are awesome!)
Collagen Peptides
Peptides are everything! Not only does this help support muscles and joints, but you also get great hair, skin, and nail benefits from it too. My hair growth has definitely increased. You can even see some great reviews with other people's results. I originally went with Vital Proteins, because that was all that I knew. I recently tried out the best seller on Amazon, and it's a no brainer why it's the best seller. Great quality, but it's about half the price. I have put this in my sweet potato mash, my coffee, and even tea. Personally, I don't taste a difference in my food with it. It's just a great way to get some protein and nutrients that your body needs into your daily routine. If you want to see how I use this in my coffee, take a moment and check it out here.
SodaStream
Have you heard of La Croix? If you have, you know that it's super simple and super natural. It's carbonated with water with essence of a certain fruit or flavor. There are no added sweeteners. No chemicals. No calories. It's pretty awesome. It can also get pretty expensive. It was decided pretty early in our Whole 30 that we want to cut out soda (with sugar and with added sweeteners) completely. We invested in a Soda Stream and have no regrets at all! Soda stream has a pack of essence flavors that are a great replacement for La Croix. You can even use a tea of your choosing and add it into the carbonated water. I have a mint rose tea that is to die for!
Epic Bars
Yea. They are epic. Think Slim Jim that is not slim and is healthier. I know. It's a crazy concept. I pretty much always have an epic bar on my person in case of emergency. We have tried a few flavors of this bar, but the venison with salt and pepper is by far our favorite.
RXBars
I am going to preface this by saying that I don't like most mixed berry flavored things. This...This has changed my view on it. RX Bar came out with this new flavor not too long ago, and I have never been so grateful for a compliant bar before. The flavors are way on point! This is another go to that I like to have on me for emergencies. Anything that it small and easy to eat is a win in my book! I actually enjoy all the flavors they have, but I am definitely partial to a few. They do have some that are not compliant, but are great for life after Whole 30 - be sure to read those ingredients on the back! If you want to try a bar before you buy a whole box, be sure to check out your local Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. I have seen these bars at both places.
NutPods
I don't know if I can ever stop talking about Nutpods. We recently bought a huge pack of them on Amazon cause we use them all the time. It's creamy, flavorful, and just all together beautiful. It's a must for my coffee. I have even heard of people using the original flavor to cook with since the texture is better than most compliant "milks." I haven't seen too many stores that carry this yet. So far I have found this at Whole Foods and at Clark's Nutrition.
Ghee
Let me tell you a story. It's father's day. We are going out with the in laws. My husband and I are the only ones on Whole 30 in this group. We are going to a steak house. A steak house that puts butter on everything. I worried immediately. What sides can I even eat?!?! I knew a baked potato would be available to order, but let's be honest - no one wants a dry baked potato. If you do, I'm sure you come from a different planet. Thankfully, clarified butter or ghee is compliant on this plan! 👏 We wanted to be prepared for this, so we found a little Tupperware and packed our ghee for the steak house. Yes. We were those people. And you know what? We didn't care one bit. You know what else? That baked potato was great.
If you have done Whole 30 and have items to add to this list, comment them below. I would love to hear about your go-to foods.
